PORTRAITS

I began painting in this cubist style as an exploration of how color informs shape. Breaking form into areas of color helped me see things in a more dimensional way.
I began with my dog, Felix, because he was always around and because he had a shiny coat that was easy for me to see in terms of shapes and planes. Over the years I've expanded to humans but the Felix paintings are my still my favorites. The goal in all my painting is to achieve a balance of shape, color and character.
